Help transcribe new collection of LGBTQ+ interviews online

Published:

This International Pride Day the State Library is calling on the community to help transcribe a moving and important collection of interviews with both prominent and unsung LGBTQ+ people.

The new LGBTQ+ oral history collection includes over 50 interviews, with people from the queer community such as performance satirist Simon Hunt (aka Pauline Pantsdown), Uniting Church minister Nicole Fleming, first-grade footballer Ian Roberts and writer and artist Fiona Kelly McGregor. A selection of these interviews has been made available online for International Pride Day (28 June), with more recordings to be added soon.

The community can help make the collection more accessible by listening to the audio and editing the transcripts online using to Library’s audio transcription tool Amplify.
