Task No. 1
Be an influencer
Work individually to create your own front cover for a fictional newspaper or magazine. You might like to use a recent news event as a stimulus for your cover, or you may like to create a headline for a fictional event of your own creation.
Your design must attempt to position and influence the reader into feeling or thinking a certain way about the issue or event. To do so, the following should be considered:
- persuasive language
- visual symbols
- visual techniques – framing, salience, colour, angle
Present your front cover to the class and justify your persuasive choices.
